Laura Moore is the owner, upholsterer, manufacturer, boat top fabricator & mom.

It all started...

in a garage in Winnipeg, Manitoba way back in 1979. The heartbeat of the company has always been reupholstery but had expanded it's services quickly to custom building, window coverings and home furnishing retail. The company moved from the city to Kenora in the eighties and we have called it home ever since.

I have had the pleasure of working with the company since 1998 and have worked in sales, design, administration, upholstery, fabrication & the occasional oil changes on the truck.

In 2007 my husband Rod and I bought the company and have a wild adventure ever since.

Our sales team is built with Kim, Patti & Jamie (with special guest appearances from us in the workroom) as the talent and expertise in the showroom. In the workroom among the sawdust and feathers we have Rod, Alex, Eric and myself (Laura).

about the company

Located in our new (& permanent) home in the historic Lindstrom & Nilson building on Railway Street in Kenora, Ontario that we acknowledge is in Treaty 3 territory and the land on which we live is the traditional territory of the Ojibway/Chippewa.

Image One Home & Cottage is made up of two parts, the Showroom and the Workroom which together, make us a pretty unusual and wonderful furniture store.

The showroom houses an impressive selection of home furnishings that reflect our relaxed lifestyle of the lakes we live on. Canadian and North American made furniture is found across the floor with the gaps filled with lighting, rugs & accessories. Towards the back of the showroom you will find the newest addition of Furniture paint and supplies.

The design center in the middle of the showroom has window covering displays, sample books and experts that can assist you to transform your windows. You will also see fabric sample books bordering the design center for all your upholstery options.

The workroom is just through the double doors at the end of the showroom. There you will hear the staccato sounds of our staplers and the whining of power tools. Reupholstery is still the soul of Image One Home & Cottage and we always have something up on our work tables. Since we are on Lake of the Woods and we have sewing machines, we also fabricate boat covers using Sunbrella fabrics as well as reupholstering boat seats..

Stop by the next time you are in the neighbourhood, we'd love to see you & show you around.
